Ioanna Nikou was born in Larissa, Greece in 1993. In 2016 she received her bachelor’s degree with a G.P.A of “Excellent” in piano performance from the Ionian University Department of Music and Audiovisual Arts in Corfu, Greece, under the direction of Prof. Lambis Vassiliadis. In 2013, during her undergraduate studies, she took part at the Erasmus exchange program for one semester at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik, Trossingen, Germany. Ioanna has performed in several venues and music festivals in Greece, Germany and the U.S such as, Juneau Arts and Culture Center, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Michigan, Wood County District Public Library, Bowling Green, Piano Plus Festival, Corfu, Greece, Linto Organization, Larisa, Greece, Conservatory of Attica, Athens, Greece , Xanthi’s Music Festival, Greece, International Music Days Brache, Germany. Ioanna has piano teaching experience of eight years, having worked as a private instructor in Greece and the U.S, as also as a teaching assistant at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Michigan in 2018 and the International Music Days in Brache, Germany in 2015. In 2018 she won the first prize in the 2017 Greek Women’s University Club National Music Competitions in Illinois. Ioanna received her Master’s degree in piano performance in 2019 in Bowling Green State University, Ohio, holding a graduate assistantship, under the direction of Dr. Robert Satterlee. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Piano performance at Ball State University, Indiana.
